The Durban International Marathon organizing committee has moved to reassure the athletics community regarding prize money payments, confirming that significant progress has been made and that all outstanding matters are being finalised with the utmost diligence.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) can confirm that payment processing for category winners is well advanced. All winners in the men’s category have been paid in full.
In the women’s category, the committee has now received the necessary clearance for the top three finishers. Accordingly, all payments for the women’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners have been made. The course record of 2:26 officially stands.
The committee is now finalizing the remaining administrative details with World Athletics regarding the verification and compliance procedures for outstanding results beyond the top three placements. This is a standard procedural requirement to ensure full compliance with international regulations.
