The Durban International Marathon (DIM) has officially launched its 7th edition, confirming the race will take place on 2 May 2027.
The launch took place on 10 September 2026, with entries opening on 12 September 2026 via Webtickets, Pick n Pay and Entry Ninja.
Since its debut, the DIM has grown from a local road race into a major fixture on the African marathon calendar. The event has expanded participation, prestige, and performance. Its course begins in Prospecton, south of Durban before moving through the city to Moses Mabhida Stadium.
It combines flat roads with favourable racing temperatures, and recent refinements have further improved the layout.
The 2027 edition will build on this momentum with enhanced runner services, improved spectator zones and a competitive elite field.
