Durban International Marathon

The Durban International Marathon is proud to announce the prize incentives for its 2025 edition, set to take place on 4 May. The organizing committee has allocated a total prize pool of R300,000 across the men’s and women’s races, with significant financial rewards for exceptional performances, particularly targeting world-class times and course records.

It is a very enticing carrot for athletes with the podium prize pool set at R75 000 for the winners while second and third place will take home, R40 000 and R15 000 respectively.

Prize Incentives for Elite Athletes

The Durban International Marathon has introduced a tiered prize structure for both male and female athletes, with bonuses awarded for achieving specific time benchmarks. These incentives are designed to encourage athletes to push their limits and aim for world-class performances.

We are committed to making the Durban International Marathon a world-class event. These incentives, including a total prize pool of R300,000, reflect our dedication to supporting elite athletes and providing them with the motivation to achieve extraordinary results.
